My dear friend Nora and I have known each other for over 30 years. She razzes me now and again by telling people about a time when we were 4 and on our way to a friend’s birthday party.
According to her, we were in an elevator wearing our finest party dresses (In my mind hers was Gunne Sax, which was cool in the early 80s) when I reached out for the skirt of her dress, felt its hand and declared “Oh, taffeta.” She then punctuates her story by reminding her audience that we were 4! Inevitably everyone roars with laughter and then points out that not much has changed in 30 years.
It’s true, not much has changed. We still go to parties together, talk about clothes and she is still a gifted story teller.
Nora has been a writer for many years and has some pretty major editorial credits under her belt. Today she can add novelist to her CV. Her book Semi-Charmed Life is now available!
